A demanding tee shot between the boundary fence to the left and a bunker to the right to catch the "over safe" drive some 220 yards from the tee. Another awkwardly placed tree tends to obscure the right side of the fairway on the approach to a small target, again played with the prevailing wind. You will be very happy with a par on this tricky stroke index 2 hole.

A short dog-leg left with no real trouble if you take a straight line off the tee to the middle of the fairway. The bunker that is visible 200 yards to the right is shared with the 3rd hole. A dry ditch 50 yards short of the green should provide no problems but beware of overclubbing as you will be faced with a lake beyond a small well guarded green.

An elevated tee shot across a lake some 100 yards in length lands you on a gently sloping fairway. A bunker 40 yards short of the green again proves deceptive to the eye when playing your approach to a green sloping back to front with a shallow bunker cutting into the right side.

This left to right dogleg needs to be played with caution. Water lies behind the right hand hedge and bank for those who dare to take on this driveable Par 4. A sensible play towards the marker post leaves a short iron approach to a flat green, the only catch being a bunker to the front right of the green.

The tee shot should be aimed at the middle of the 3 fairway bunkers on this right to left dogleg leaving a mid to short iron to a two tier green. There is a greenside bunker to catch any wayward approach shots making this a very is tricky 3 levelled green with boundary fences to the rear.

This signature short hole features stunning views over the Cheddar Valley and the Mendip Hills. An inviting tee shot from a raised tee to a small but gathering target with steep sides demands accuracy. Beware of overclubbing, especially in summer, as your next shot could be a tricky lob back - take a few seconds to enjoy the spectacular views during the short walk down to the 12th tee.

An aptly named hole called "Bounce" awaits your tee shot, dropping steeply from right to left. Various schools of thought exist on where to land your drive - the general consensus being middle to left leaving the easier uphill approach shot. Your second shot will invariably be played with the ball well above your feet, resulting in most people playing safe to the far right of the sheltered green.

The first of 3 long par 5's offers a generous tee shot to an undulating fairway. The third shot is the key to this hole, your approach being played to a long shallow green protected at the front by a bunker and to the rear by woodland and a boundary fence that awaits aggressive play.

The longest of the Par 5's requires two healthy wood shots to enable you the luxury of a mid-iron for your approach. A long but flat green that has a large amount of dead ground in front offers you a good opportunity to save par having negotiated your drive and fairway woods.

Definitely the most difficult of the Par 5's into the prevailing wind. A driver is not always necessary, as good positioning off the tee is vital to ensure a good line avoiding the hazards that await a stray ball. Having negotiated tricky first and second shots, a mid or short iron should see you safely to a green well guarded by a large Oak tree to the right and bunkers just short of the putting surface.

Not for the fainthearted, this tee shot into the prevailing wind has trouble awaiting on both sides of the fairway. Not only is accuracy the key but a memorial pond lurks at 200 yards for those playing short with an iron. Your approach to this elevated green needs careful planning as the yardage plays longer than it suggests.
